Healthcare & Biopharma workplace culture in Australia

Great Place To Work is proud to launch our inaugural Australia’s Best Workplaces™ in Healthcare & Biopharma List. This list recognizes exemplary companies in the Healthcare Biotechnology & Pharmaceuticals industries.

Across the board – from researchers, first responders, scientists, support staff, and their associated suppliers and partners, healthcare and biopharma industries have experienced first-hand how the difficulties of COVID-19 have impacted staff and workforce management.

Right now these industries exist in some of the most challenging times to hire and retain talent. However our Great Place To Work surveys and research shows us that organisations who are implementing best practices and people-first purpose-driven approaches to employee engagement are those still thriving despite tough workplace and recruitment challenges.

The inaugural Australia’s Best Workplaces in Healthcare and Biopharma List puts the spotlight on the organisations that are dedicated to providing employee satisfaction and engagement, and their commitment to excellence in the industry and we look forward to recognising and celebrating those leading the charge across the country in this space.

Australia’s Best Workplaces™ in Healthcare & Biopharma 2024 List FAQs

Great Place To Work® is the global authority on workplace culture, employee experience and the leadership behaviors proven to deliver market-leading revenue and increased innovation. We help companies around the world survey their employees, benchmark their results, identify gaps and improve their workplace culture. Ours is the only national recognition program based on a rigorous methodology and validated employee feedback.

Australian companies that:

  • Nominate as a company in the Healthcare or Biotechnology & Pharmaceuticals sectors.
  • Are Great Place To Work Certified™.
  • To become Certified™, companies must survey their employees using our flagship assessment, the Trust Index™.

The process is very easy and straight-forward. To Get Certified™, businesses will run our Trust Index™ Survey with their employees and will complete a short 30-minute questionnaire, in order to Get Certified™.

Great Place To Work® determines the list using our proprietary For All™ methodology. To determine the Best Workplaces in Healthcare & Biopharma list, Great Place To Work analyses the survey responses of employees from Great Place To Work Certified™ companies in the Healthcare and Biotechnology & Pharmaceuticals sectors.

Our survey enables employees to share confidential quantitative and qualitative feedback about their organisation’s culture by responding to 60 statements on a 5-point scale and answering two open-ended questions. Collectively, these statements describe a great employee experience, defined by high levels of trust, respect, credibility, fairness, pride, and camaraderie. In addition, companies provide organizational data like size, location, industry, demographics, roles, and levels. Great Place To Work measures the differences in survey responses across demographic groups and roles within each organization to assess both the quality and consistency of the employee experience.

Statements are weighted according to their relevance in describing the most important aspects of an equitable workplace. Survey data analysis and company-provided datapoints are then factored into a combined score to compare and rank the companies that create the most consistently positive experience for all employees in this industry.

To be considered for the list, companies must be Great Place To Work Certified™ and nominate as a company in the Healthcare or Biotechnology & Pharmaceuticals sectors.

We require statistically significant survey results, review anomalies in responses, news, and financial performance, and investigate any employee reports of company incompliance with strict surveying rules to validate the integrity of the results and findings.

First, rest assured, we keep results completely confidential. We never disclose the names of companies who participate in the process but do not get recognised. You have nothing to lose.

You gain the benefits of employee feedback and can use our helpful reports and analytics to gain actionable insights about your business.

I want to get recognized!
